I don't know why, but I have always found log cabins very interesting. I think it started when I first visited my uncle's log cabin in Wyoming. It was a great place for a weekend getaway. The other great thing about getting a design and then working on the house with your family is the bond it can create and learning experience for your children. I've had a couple of friends go through a similar experience and it really gave them a chance to learn all kinds of things that you need to know to take care of your house.
